Derek Waldbillig rushed for four touchdowns as the Farmington football team overcame a slow start with 34 unanswered points in a 41-12 rout of Holy Angels Friday night at a roofless Stardome in Richfield.

Just about 11 years ago the city of Farmington took the wraps off of a refurbished Exchange Bank building and revealed what many at the time felt would become the heart of a revitalized downtown business district.

So far this year, the Farmington Fire Department has responded to three house fires, one of which was Mother Nature's doing. One was ruled accidental and one is still under investigation.

A year has come and gone already since Minnesota's statewide smoking ban went into effect. For the most part, Farmington bars and restaurants are rebounding from the initial decrease that followed the ban.

Apple Valley-Lakeville-Farmington Ambulance providers are still scratching their heads and trying to figure out what lies in their futures as member-city officials consider outsourcing their jobs.

When the cast of Farmington High School's drama department goes on stage this weekend, they will be doing more than just performing a play. They will also be teaching subtle lessons.

During the school break Thursday through Saturday Oct. 16-18, children of all ages along with grandparents, parents and other adults are invited to Grand History Days at Dakota City Heritage Village.

The huge, arched windows in the second floor of downtown Farmington's Exchange Bank building let in massive amounts of light, giving everything inside an almost supernatural glow. But for 20 years or more there weren't many who knew that. The space, once host to plays, concerts and community meetings, was closed to the public and in no shape to serve as a community gathering place.
